National Immunisation Programme update: 3 February 2023
Kia ora koutou,
Happy Friday!
We have a couple of updates for you this week. Please pass on to your networks as relevant. As always thank you for sharing our updates with your contacts.
If you know of someone who would like to receive updates on the National Immunisation Programme, please pass on my details to them and I will add them in.
Childhood immunisation data
We wanted to let you know we are publishing the quarterly (Oct-Dec) national childhood immunisation coverage rates today. The rates have remained steady this quarter, with 84.4 percent of
children fully immunised for their age at 8 months, 82.4 percent at 24 months, and 80.8 percent at 5 years. The data will be available on the Ministry of Health website here.
Lifting childhood immunisation rates is a critical priority for Te Whatu Ora. The National Immunisation Programme is working in partnership with our key stakeholders focussed on delivering improvements in immunisation rates particularly for our whānau Māori and Pacific communities.
Weekly vaccination data
From January 2023, the weekly Trends and Insights report has been replaced with an interactive dashboard including graphs on rates over time of COVID-19 cases, hospital admissions for COVID-19, and deaths attributed to COVID-19. Our Māori and Pacific data can be found here: COVID-19 Trends and Insights, COVID-19: Current Cases, COVID-19 Case Demographics and COVID-19 Vaccine Data.
Collateral on Dropbox
Don’t forget all our immunisation collateral is available on Dropbox for health care providers to use when promoting vaccinations. Please feel free to share this link and the collateral widely with your other healthcare colleagues: Dropbox: NIP – vaccine resources – Simplify your life.
Consent forms (English and Te Reo Māori) and policy statements for use by health professionals can also be found in this Dropbox.
You can also find a range of vaccination stories on our YouTube channel.
Have a safe long Waitangi weekend
Ngā mihi nui,
Sandy
